Sometimes when I read, I find a disconnect between the characters’ usual personas and how they are when it’s time for bedroom acrobatics, but this was not a problem here. The short story is no fluffy romance it’s full of scenes ranging from teasing to steaming, which the author has handled very well. The adult material is also not confined to the author’s note. I highly appreciate that type of humor, and I’m glad she uses it in all of her books, regardless of their length. It starts off with a brief note from the author, addressing first new readers and explaining to them the background for the story, and then two sentences to her long-time fans, who are familiar with her R-rated sense of humor. Pleasure with Business is a very short read (three chapters which you can go through within an hour) by author Jex Lane, set in her Beautiful Monsters universe, but can be read as a standalone.
